iPhone or iPad

Use Safari (not Chrome — Chrome on iOS doesn't support installing PWAs).

  1. Open sparkrefapp.com in Safari. If you tapped Open SparkRef above, you're already there.
  2. Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen .
  3. Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add in the top-right corner.
  5. SparkRef now sits on your home screen with the copper bolt icon. Tap it like any other app — it opens full-screen and works offline.

Android

Use Chrome, Edge, or Samsung Internet.

  1. Open sparkrefapp.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu (three dots, top-right of the browser).
  3. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen .
  4. Tap Install to confirm.
  5. SparkRef installs to your home screen and app drawer. Tap it like any other app — it opens full-screen and works offline.

Desktop (Mac, Windows, Linux)

Use Chrome, Edge, or Brave. Firefox and Safari on Mac do not support PWA install.

  1. Open sparkrefapp.com in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Look in the address bar for the install icon .
  3. Click it, then click Install.
  4. SparkRef opens in its own window and lands in your dock or Start menu. Works offline.

If something doesn't work

I don't see "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone

You're probably in Chrome or another iOS browser. Apple only allows Safari to install PWAs. Open sparkrefapp.com in Safari, then try the share sheet.

I don't see "Install app" on Android

Some Android browsers show "Add to Home screen" instead — same thing, tap that. If neither shows, you may already have SparkRef installed; check your home screen and app drawer.

I tapped Install but nothing happened

The install prompt may have been dismissed earlier. Close the browser tab completely, reopen sparkrefapp.com in a fresh tab, and try again.

How do I uninstall it?

Same as any other app. iPhone: long-press the icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. Android: long-press the icon, drag to Uninstall. Desktop: open SparkRef in its own window, click the menu, Uninstall.

Will it use up storage on my phone?

Roughly the size of a single high-res photo (3-5 MB) for the cached app. The NEC content downloads on first launch and stays cached for offline use.
